Job Description Summary (COMPANY NAME)' Southeast Office is seeking a public policy intern to assist with research and various projects related to the creation and preservation of affordable housing and homelessness prevention. Enterprise is a national non-profit founded in 1982, dedicated to creating and preserving affordable housing in diverse communities across the United States. Enterprise works to address the nation's housing crisis by providing resources, expertise, and capital to partners and communities to build and sustain affordable homes for low- and moderate-income families. Enterprise's priorities are increasing affordable housing supply, advancing racial equity, and building resilient and upwardly mobile communities. This policy internship will last 10-12 weeks during the fall 2024 with a time commitment of 20 hours per week. Job Description Job Responsibilities: Assist with the design and development of advocacy materials to promote increased funding for housing trust funds in Georgia using recently gathered data and information; Participate in the advocacy strategy to implement a dedicated revenue source for housing trust funds in Georgia; Draft research memoranda or policy briefs on emerging issues; Gather data from partners and publicly available sources to help make the case for increased affordable housing investment; Assist with the development of informational materials for different audiences (policymakers, coalition partners, community leaders, residents, etc.); Conduct research related to legislative or policy proposals; Attend virtual or in-person meetings of state agencies, local Atlanta government entities, or legislative study committee hearings to observe discussion, take notes, and provide a summary of housing related content to the Southeast team; Assist with coordinating coalition meetings with policy partners; and Additional assistance with internal programs for the Southeast team, as requested.                                                                                                 Qualifications:  Law student or graduate student; Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook; Familiarity with web-based research; Excellent organizational skills; Maintains professionalism and discretion when handling confidential matters; Experience with or strong interest in affordable housing issues; Superior research and writing skills; Familiarity with and/or strong interest in the policies and funding sources of affordable housing development; Self-motivated, ability to work both independently and as a team player; Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Enterprise offers a comprehensive total rewards package for you and your family. The base pay for this role is $18 to $22 per hour, depending on level of skills and experience. The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
