Description

The qualified intern/Co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

* Support TX-524 acoustic engineers with measurement activities on series and pre-series vehicles.

* Historically, this includes measurements for exterior noise, drivetrain noise, electric accessory noises, and powertrain noises.

* The student will also assist engineers in root cause analysis, developing solutions, and presenting ideas to management.

* In this position, the student will learn and utilize various measurement techniques and equipment to analyze vehicle acoustics.

* The student will have a mix of hands on work and data analysis.

* Assist acoustic engineers with measurements and analysis.

* Gain experience with data acquisition systems and measurement equipment.

* Coordinate and schedule vehicles for acoustic analysis.

* Gain basic knowledge of new vehicle development.

Set up new measurement tools for use on the road to streamline specialist's analysis.

* Set up process for documenting launch vehicle acoustic quality with acoustic measurements.

* Develop an acoustic virtual vehicle fleet for comparison of future quality changes to Spartanburg vehicle projects.

Understand the launch and ATG process and the role TX-524 plays in protecting plant targets and preparing vehicles for start of production.

* Understanding of the BMW BI rating and how the scale reflects the customer expectation of our vehicles

* Understanding of acoustic analysis in a complex, dynamic system such as a vehicle

* Ability to interpret testing results, such as FFT's, order data or waterfall plots, and understand how they reflect the real-life physics in the vehicle.

Qualifications

* Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)

* Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.

* Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.

* Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).

* Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.

* MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT

* Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.

* THE WORK TERM DATES ARE August 11th - December 12th, 2025.

* Mechanical, Automotive, or Acoustic Engineering.

* Preferred emphasis on system dynamics, vibrations, or acoustics
