Job Description:

Your responsibilities
You will join the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection Unit (HSE), which supports the organisation in implementing and enforcing its safety policy. Within the HSE Unit, the Environment Group (ENV) monitors the impact of the organisation's activities on the local environment and provides advice on improvement measures.
Within this group, you will become part of the Environmental Prevention Section (EP), which offers environmental engineering expertise for new projects and ongoing activities undertaken by the organisation. These cover domains such as air, water, soil, noise, waste, and the use of chemical agents, including follow-up on environmental incidents or accidents, while ensuring that appropriate environmental indicators are defined.
As an Environmental Engineer, you will actively contribute to helping (COMPANY NAME) minimise its environmental impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting (COMPANY NAME) Departments and the HSE Unit in defining requirements for conventional environmental protection within the framework of projects and existing activities.
* Leading environmental studies in areas such as soil protection, biodiversity preservation, and hazardous substance management, including drafting and following up on technical specifications.
* Organising and managing site visits at (COMPANY NAME) to recommend improvements to environmental practices, documented through official reports or notes.
* Monitoring and ensuring environmental protection during engineering and civil works.
* Raising environmental awareness among all stakeholders.
* Contributing to (COMPANY NAME)'s environmental monitoring programme, including on-site investigations and follow-up on pollution incidents, in support of continuous improvement in environmental protection.

Your profile
Skills
* Knowledge of French or Swiss Environmental regulations,
* more specifically on soil protection, biodiversity or hazardous substances is an asset;
* Ability to conduct environmental assessments and implement preventive measures is an asset.
* Willingness to undertake site visits.
* Proficiency in drafting and writing official documents.
* Fluent in French, with the ability to prepare technical specifications and/or scientific reports, as well as deliver oral presentations in French or, if preferred, English.
Eligibility criteria:
* You are a national of a (COMPANY NAME) Member or Associate Member State.
* By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in environmental engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
* You have never had a (COMPANY NAME) fellow or graduate contract before.
* Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
* Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Additional Information:

Job closing date: 13.01.2025 at 23:59 (midnight) CET.
Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Target start date: 01-June-2025
This position involves:
* Work in Radiation Areas.
* Interventions in underground installations.
* A valid driving licence.
