Why do we need you ?

📢 SGIMP (also called Sekurit Poland) is part of Sekurit, a Business Unit leader in automotive glazing and part of the Saint-Gobain Group. Sekurit Poland has a strong industrial footprint with 4 plants in Poland producing advanced and complex glazing mostly for the German car makers present in Western and Central Europe.
Following the nomination of the Mercedes MBEAM project (future C-class all electric), Sekurit Poland will significantly expand its industrial capabilities in PU (Polyurethane) encapsulation which is the process used to overmold some glazing and especially big roofs.
The position will be focused on understanding better the process of PU encapsulation for big canopies with the goal of improving the technical performance and support the start-up of the new plant dedicated to such roofs.
🎯 The main role:
As a process engineer, you will support the production of existing and new products, by:
* Acquiring technical knowledge on the process and product.
* Capitalizing lessons learned into production and process standards.
* Making the link with the central R&D department (France/ Germany).
* Improving the technical performance: yield, productivity and quality.
🙌 A plus for this role
You will work on encapsulation, but you will also have the opportunity to understand and challenge how the molds are designed, manufactured and adjusted, how the glass is bent, what are the control steps of the process, what is the impact of storage and transportation… Travels within Europe to visit suppliers are possible.
➡️ Extra information
The VIE is in production, following the time schedule of production. However, in Poland, the working hours are in general from 8am to 4pm. The plant is closed one week in New Year time and one week in August. Occasionally, you can do some home office related to a personal need.
This is a 12-month mission, extendable once.

Is this job for you ?

We are looking for:
* Master's degree in materials science, or in mechanical or industrial engineering; knowledge of plastics processes appreciated.
* Excellent communication skills to work with multiple stakeholders in different countries.
* You are autonomous, curious, and rigorous.
* Data analysis and ability to summarize.
* Good English is mandatory, Polish is a strong plus.

A team ready to welcome you

In France, the R&D team is around 10 people working on Encapsulation processes but also bonding topics and components design. We have weekly meetings to exchange on our different topics. The VIE is included in these meetings.
In Poland, you will work mostly with the process team composed of 4 people, but the variety of subjects will make you interact with all departments of the plant (quality, industrialization, new projects, operators…). They all speak English except operators. The plant is working in 3*8.
Testimony:
Plant manager in Poland: "The VIE's involvement in our company is very helpful - she has her own proposals and analyzes - she does not act in only reproductive way, but searches/analyzes and proposes. The VIE program is a success and I`m promoting its continuation."
Our current VIE: First VIE in Zary in 2024: "The Polish team is welcoming and dynamic. The plant is active with all the new project arriving. This VIE allowed me to learn a complex process, managing various topics, within the plant but also with international colleagues (French, German, Czech, Chinese…). I didn't know at all Poland, and it is a good surprise. I met kind people who are glad to share their culture."
