About the Opportunity

Envisioning the future is fun. Crafting it is powerful. The information and communication technology (ICT) revolution is one of the major technological breakthroughs since the industrial revolution. ICT products such as computers, communication satellites, fiber optics and smart phones have changed how we lead our lives and produce and consume goods and services. In the future ICT innovations based on 5G, internet of things (IoT), augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), big data, digital twins and cloud will continue to change the world.
At Consumer & IndustryLab we explore the future of technology for consumers, enterprises, and a sustainable society.

What You Will Do

Cellular connectivity improves lives every day. In the future it will mean so much more - from doctors being able to make an accurate diagnosis- remotely, experiential learning in virtual worlds or bringing financial services to communities without traditional banking infrastructure. Thus, the societal impact will be substantial. This is why Ericsson would like to initiate a master thesis project investigating the impact of mixed reality (MR), with a particular emphasis on programming challenges when building MR (mixed reality applications) that support two or more participants in an area that has not been spatially predefined.

This master-thesis position is based in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Skills You Bring

* This project is suitable for a master student with a good knowledge of Unity and MR/VR programming.
* Previous experience in writing applications for the Meta Quest family of headsets is an advantage.
* Excellent grades and fluent skills in written and spoken English are also important requirements.
* The project is planned to start during winter/spring of 2025.
