About the assignment
Using Open Source Software inevitable and is done everywhere. For commercial companies the process around using OSS is a little trickier. The open source licenses involved may have a big impact on the software using the components. An elaborate process is involved to verify whether (a version of) a component may be used. With the increasing need to work and collaborate with OSS the need for more automation arises.
Your assignment will be to dive into the parts of this process that allow for automation to improve the process for use of new (versions of) components and make the process more transparent.
This means you'll:
* Investigate the usability and limitations of the current process
* Investigate how the process can be automated
* Develop a proof of concept for the automation, with clear feedback to the users
* Demonstrate the concept
