What you'll do:
* You will be part of the TomTom finops team and work together with experienced data engineers and data analysts.
* Extract information from public cloud (AWS, Azure) that can result in cost optimizations.
* Write and test best practices to optimize cloud spend.
* Share this information within TomTom.
* Follow up on implementation with TomTom's engineering teams.
* Develop your skills on Azure and AWS.
A few examples of assignments that you would do in the internship are:
* Create measured opportunities for a specific service. Example: Azure SQL Server licensing, database reservations.
* Anomaly detection. Detecting anomalies in cloud spend data and how to avoid false positives.
* Report on total storage & vCPU consumption on all cloud services consumed. Visualize workloads consuming large and small amounts.
* Visualize cloud network costs per workload. How much is going out to internet, between regions, ... and what are optimization potentials.
What you'll need:
* Knowledge in transforming and visualizing data and further extend the knowledge as a trainee.
* Interest in public cloud and IT.
* Getting smart on finops
* Be enrolled in a University throughout the entire duration of your internship (if Non-EU this would have to be a Dutch University)
What you can expect:
* 1100 Euros/month (gross salary based on full-time work)
* 6 months internship contract with possibility to extend.
