The Innovation and Development Division (IDD) drives the innovation strategy for the Hubs and Operations, and contributes to the Group's transformation. It is responsible for imagining, developing and incubating new solutions until they are brought to market, particularly when it comes to offers with a high technological content (including digital and IT). IDD gathers more than 3,000 employees from 70 nationalities at 60 sites.

Air Liquide Innovation Campus Delaware is one of Air Liquide's 5 Innovation Campuses worldwide. Presentation of the team and business activities

The Data Science team is part of the R&D Industrial Performance group, which aims to maximize operational excellence in production and supply chain by optimizing safety, efficiency, flexibility and reliability. The Data Science team counts 11 full-time employees and 1 PhD intern (representing 10 countries and speaking 19 languages in total), with backgrounds in data science, machine learning & deep learning, operations research, energy research, chemical engineering, and economics (14 different majors). The team conducts innovative research and delivers impactful solutions across customer experience, marketing, supply chain management, decarbonization, and strategic planning.
Mission Summary:
The researcher will have the opportunity to work on challenging problems focusing on customers and
operations.The researcher will also interact with multi-disciplinary teams composed of Business, IT and Digital
resources that define operating models, and build digital solutions.

You will contribute to this mission by
● Collaborate with the business and operations teams to define needs and challenges, translate them into
functional specifications, and develop solutions to address them.
● Work with Digital & IT and business teams to obtain online/offline data. Clean, and analyze the data.
● Develop solutions relying on machine learning methods such as clustering, regression, classification,
time series and deep learning.
● Test and verify the performance of solutions with prototypes developed in Python, or similar
● development environments.
● Support the development of industrial tools and their deployment in the business units.
● Ensure knowledge sharing, thus ensuring sustainability of the solutions for Air Liquide.
● Publish research in internal reports, at conferences and peer-reviewed journals.

Are you a MATCH?

Education:
● Master's or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related field

Soft and Hard Skills:
● A strong background and experience in statistics and machine learning
● Strong programming skills in Python
● Ability to write production level, modular code
● Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and oral).
● Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and international team.
● Willing to work in an agile development and problem-solving environment
● Team player and autonomous
● Preferred: Experience in AWS, Azure, and SQL
● Preferred: Experience in project management, leading a project

Languages:
● English fluency is Must have
