Context
As an engineer specialized in composite design, you will be part of the composite team in (COMPANY NAME)' engineering department.
Initially, you will be involved in finalizing the design of composite parts for our next product at our offices in Paris. This will enable you to get to know the team and familiarize yourself with our working methods.
We then offer you a minimum one-year VIE assignment in China, near Shanghai, to follow the production of molds and the first parts of our new product at our composite supplier's facilities. You will also follow the testing and validation of the first parts. This assignment will enable you to act as the engineering team's point of contact with our supplier, documenting, monitoring and streamlining the various stages of production.
Following your VIE, and building on your Chinese experience, you will return to the composite team based in Paris.
Main Missions
In collaboration with the Composite engineer manager , your missions will include:
* Define, specify and justify technical choices
* Design and dimension composite parts
* Generate 3D CAD and drawings of parts
* Ensure manufacturing and assembly feasibility
* Monitor suppliers and assemblers
* Participate in building the (COMPANY NAME) feedback and best practice database
* Provide input on ways to optimize (COMPANY NAME) products
* Participate in the development of design office tools
During the VIE:
* Monitor the design of (COMPANY NAME) molds and parts:
* Ensure that the specifications and plans defined by (COMPANY NAME) are properly followed.
* Facilitate interactions between (COMPANY NAME) and the supplier
* Report modification requests and validate them with the Paris-based composite team
* Modify plans to generate "as built" version
* Report and document manufacturing progress
* Feed the feedback database to improve future products
* Monitor and report on validation tests for first products
Requerimientos del candidato/a:
Profile & Required Skills
* Theoretical knowledge gained from a 5-year degree in mechanical engineering, with a specialization in composite materials,
* At least 2 years' professional experience in the industry, enabling you to design and dimension structural parts in composite materials for several projects in the offshore, shipbuilding and wind power sectors.
* Good command of 3D CAD and drawing tools
* A good understanding of the mechanical characteristics of composite materials
* Good knowledge of manufacturing processes for composite materials
* A good knowledge of standards applied in the marine, wind and crane industries, as well as experience of working with class companies, will be valued.
* Ability to analyze and synthesize
* rigor, organization and autonomy
* Curiosity and team spirit
* Fluency in English: essential for taking part in international meetings Knowledge of sailing is a plus.
