Your mission, roles and responsibilities
MATERI'ACT, a Forvia division, provides sustainable materials amongst all Faurecia Business Groups and to be one of the major contributors to Faurecia CO2 Reduction Roadmap according to the Paris agreement.
MATERI'ACT has been created in November 2022 and counts now around 100 employees mainly in France, USA and China.
Working inside MATERI'ACT is a unique opportunity to evolve in an outstanding environment including new technologies, clean tech, new materials to build tomorrow's vehicles by collaborating with the biggest brands.
We are looking for an Intern R&D Compounds engineer for a 6 months internship in our MATERI'ACT H&Q in Villeurbanne!
Your mission: to support project managers in the development of new composite materials
- Technical support: carrying out market studies, scientific state of the art, prospecting for new partners, written reports and oral presentations.
- Experimental support: defining experimental plans, carrying out experimental tests in our in-house laboratory on specific scientific issues such as reducing material emissions, improving adhesion phenomena and interfaces, optimizing composite performance (thermo-mechanical, colormatching) with the aim of meeting customer expectations.
Your profile and competencies to succeed
We are ideally looking for :
- A student in his/her final year of engineering school or Master 2 in materials science, specializing if possible in polymers and composites. Knowledge of eco-design and circular economy would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the physico-chemical properties of polymers, mainly organic, composites with natural reinforcements, and their manufacturing processes (extrusion, injection, etc.).
- An experimental profile with knowledge/experience in characterization of polymer and composite materials (DSC, TGA, IR, Tensile...).
- An inquisitive personality, rigorous in its scientific approach, dynamic and autonomous in its actions, versatile in its skills.
- Fluency in French and English (advanced level) required.
