Contract Duration: 4 and 6 months (Summer)

Saskatoon, SK

Wage: $22 - $30 / hour

We are looking for a Canola Breeding Summer Associate to join our AP team in Saskatoon, SK.

As a Canola Breeding Summer Associate, you create chemistry by...

* Being involved in field trials for local and global breeding programs with the goal of developing hybrids that provide the highest return to growers.  

* Being involved with field activities relating to variety development and registration from seeding to harvest including seed set up, land preparation, seeding, pest control, pollination management, plot maintenance, parental development, harvesting and supervision of casual employees as required.  

* Being involved in crop health diagnosis through daily monitoring of field and research plots and data collection.  

* Working in a group setting or independently dependant on the task at hand.

If you have...

* Breeding and Agronomic knowledge attained through pursuing your degree/diploma in Agriculture or related program/field and/or recently obtained your Degree/Diploma in Agriculture in the last 2 years.

* Experience in the Agriculture Industry is an asset, but not a requirement.

* Demonstrate problem solving skills. 

* Ability to be flexible and modify plans as situations arise minimizing impact on results. 

* Interest in canola development. 

* Ability to deliver results in pursuit of both individual and team goals. 

* Previous farm or machinery experience is an asset but not a requirement as it is a skill set that will be developed on the job.
