Oatly Group AB is a Swedish food company that produces alternatives to dairy products from oats.[1][2] A liter of Oatly product consumed in place of cow's milk results in around 80% less greenhouse gas emissions, 79% less land usage and 60% less energy consumption.[3] Oatly was formed in the 1990s using research from Lund University.[4][5][6] Oatly has headquarters in Malmö and a production and development center in Landskrona.[7][8][9][10][11] Oatly's key markets are Sweden, Germany and the U.K., and its products were available in 60,000 retail stores and 32,200 coffee shops around the world as of 31 December 2020.[12] Oatly can also be found in 11,000 coffee and tea shops in China, and at more than 6,000 retail and specialty shops across the country, including thousands of Starbucks locations.
