DGF Role Profile
Role Title Roadfreight Operations Intern
Business Unit (COMPANY NAME) Global Forwarding
Location Cedar Drive, Dublin Airport Logistics Park
Scope of Role To Liaise with Customers and receive booking information from agents via EDI, to open up bookings, track shipments and Bill out files. Help out Export planning with Compiling and finishing off Trailer paperwork in particular on a Tuesday and Friday.
Reports to Roadfreight TBO Team Lead
Days & Hours of Work Monday - Friday 9.00 - 17.30, based on 36.25-hour week
Key Accountabilities
* Manage customer bookings from our customers and agents.
* Treat shipments from EDI manifest received.
* Arrange deliveries through haulier or DCTS (local transport system)
with Domestic agents.
* Process export and import shipments.
* Third Party Transport management
* Arrange collection through DCTS.
* Working with hauler's as selected & advised by Product
Team/Operations Manager
* Work with and respond to any transport queries.
* Shipment processing
* Treat files in FREIGHTsoft (international shipping system)
* Ensure offloading list is given to handling department and returned
following day.
* Opening File on FREIGHTsoft in line with operational requirements
* Print file from FREIGHTsoft.
* Check dangerous goods information is correct in line with
documentation received.
* Handover of completed file to Planning Ops
* Daily contact with customer services to track and trace shipments and
resolve problems which may arise.
* Processing of hazardous consignments to ADR and IMDG standards.
* Develop and grow our relationship with our overseas partners.
* Work closely with our Planning Operators to maintain profitability and
full load capacity on each Import trailer.
* Updating reports and registers daily for billing and reporting
Requirements.
* Invoice shipments in FREIGHTsoft while going into the public drive to
obtain the correct rates.
* Trailer documentation relating to import trailers.
* Tie up all documentation, including but not limited to loading list,
CMR's Route plans, DG docs, Customs.
* Establish priorities, monitor progress, and ensure follow up is
* Participate in the implementation of operational processes and
perform work to the standards of Good Distribution practice (GDP) for
Life Science business, as required.
* Ensure operational compliance to all revenue and international trade
legislative requirements, and all requirements under Data Protection
Legislation in addition to all DGF IE policies and procedures (H&S,
Quality, Environmental, HR, etc), and work in a manner that supports
the Company environment programme

* Strong organisation skills

* Good MS Office skills with ECDL desirable
* Leaving Certificate minimum requirement
* Computer literacy with knowledge of various systems beneficial
