<div><b style="font-size: 18px">About the job</b></div><div><br></div><div>Scaleway is looking for an Instances Design &amp; Deployment Engineer to join our Instances team. Your main mission will be to integrate new virtualization instances offers for a variety of hardware technologies, such as CPU or GPU, targeting our customers. </div><div><br></div><div>Reporting to our Engineering Manager, Clément LAFORET, you will utilise your mixed background in low-level software engineering and in systems administration</div>

<li>Experience with GNU Linux systems</li><li>Knowledge of the QEMU and KVM virtualization technologies</li><li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Continuous Deployment</li><li>Technical documentation writing skills</li><li>Proven know-how in troubleshooting both hardware and kernel issues</li><li>Experience with Layer 2 &amp; 3 networking</li><li>Experience with Python programming and bash scripting</li><li>Experience with monitoring systems</li><li>A great attitude and desire to collaborate with other engineering teams</li><li>Very good command of English </li><br/><li>Experience writing tools to manage physical servers at scale</li><li>Love of all things automation</li><li>Experience profiling hardware configuration performance</li><li>Experience with relational databases</li><li>Knowledge of one cloud platform and related use-cases</li><li>Experience as an OSS contributor or maintainer</li><br/><li>Work closely with Product Managers and Hardware Research &amp; Development to regularly integrate new hardware products to our user-facing fleet of hypervisors.</li><li>Develop, test and deliver the tooling used to deploy hypervisors in an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) manner</li><li>Automate, document and continuously improve the deployment process</li><li>Benchmark and monitor performance of our instances against our competitors'</li><br/><li>Systems: Ubuntu Server</li><li>Provisioning: Foreman, Ansible, AWX</li><li>DCIM and IPAM: NetBox</li><li>Languages: Python, Shell</li><li>Secrets management: Vault</li><li>Source code management: Git</li><li>Software repositories: Gitlab, Nexus</li><li>Communication: Jira, Confluence, Slack</li><li>Monitoring: Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus</li><br/><div>This position can be either:&nbsp; </div><div>- Based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France), 100% fully remote is possible&nbsp;</div><div>- Fully remote worldwide</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-size: 12pt">We treat every candidate equally in our recruitment process.
