Your team
You will be part of the Directorate Digital Euro within the Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments. Within the broader digital euro project team, you will work alongside ten colleagues in the Programme Management Office, focusing on:
* monitoring and reporting on the progress of the project activities including the coordination of Governing Council reporting;
* supporting secretariat functions for the High-Level Task Force on a digital euro and other project governance bodies;
* coordinating the internal processes of the different work streams, including preparing documents related to planning, financial and project management aspects;
* interacting with various stakeholders, including Eurosystem national central banks, governance groups and consultancy companies.
The ECB is an inclusive employer and we strive to reflect the diversity of the population we serve. We encourage you to apply irrespective of age, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or other characteristics.
Your role
As a Project Assistant in the Programme Management Office you will:
* support the overall project management, including planning, monitoring and reporting on progress, and conducting cost-benefit assessments;
* support the implementation and management of the processes and tools used for project management and collaboration with governance bodies;
* support the decision-making and steering bodies and the reporting of various governance groups;
* support effective communication, and interact directly with stakeholders up to board level;
* provide administrative support for the digital euro team and organise and facilitate its meetings.
The position offers you excellent opportunities to shape the future of central bank money available to all citizens and firms in the euro area and, in doing so, support the digitalisation of the euro area economy. You will be part of a multicultural team that strives for continuous innovation to make a positive impact on the lives of European citizens.
Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
* relevant vocational training or equivalent or a university degree in finance, business, management or another relevant field (see How you can join us for details on degree equivalences);
* in addition to the above, at least two years' relevant experience (which may include trainee or intern experience), of which at least six months as part of a project management office;
* experience of working with collaboration, planning and project management tools, such as Teams Planner, Jira, Confluence, Miro and MS Office;
* experience in administering a project budget (in particular procurement and budgeting) and dealing with sensitive information in a discreet manner;
* an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
* a sound understanding of the digital euro project and its mandate;
* experience of organising medium-scale internal and external events (50+ people);
* experience with ECB and/or Eurosystem-wide collaboration projects;
* proven organisational skills with the ability to take initiative, prioritise, switch flexibly between tasks and work accurately with an eye for detail.
You are recognised as someone who supports others proactively. You work constantly to improve your own output and you learn willingly from other people's diverse perspectives. You signal any need for change by explaining it and proposing alternative solutions. Your strong capacity for analytical thinking enables you to work with incomplete information and you deliver in line with stakeholder needs.
You are motivated to contribute to the ECB's mission, to serve the citizens of the EU as a member of a public institution and to work with colleagues from all over Europe.
